He clerked at the U.S. Court of International Trade and practiced law at King & Spalding and White & Case, advising on antidumping and countervailing duty investigations, export controls, sanctions, customs compliance, international arbitration, and commercial matters. He helped found the Hudson Institute’s Center for the Future of Liberal Society, serving as its first Associate Director. A published writer and commentator, his work has appeared in The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Atlantic, The Wall Street Journal, Lawfare, War on the Rocks, and the Kyiv Independent. He was selected for Washingtonian’s 500 Most Influential list and is a Term Member of the Council on Foreign Relations, a Senior Fellow at the Steamboat Institute and Yorktown Institute, and a David Rockefeller Fellow of the Trilateral Commission. A former Fulbright and Clarendon Scholar, he holds a J.D. from NYU and a D.Phil. from Oxford.
